My name is Ilhan Yilmaz and I work for Avis Budget Group as a Rental Sales Agent. I started in 2010 in downtown Amsterdam, and after five months I moved to the airport because we had more reservations, and I wanted to work in a big team, with many customers offering a full service. That's my role at Avis Budget Group at the moment.
I start in the morning very early, sometimes 6am, that's the first shift. I make sure everything is ready, checking the cars, the reservations, in time to start with the first customer at 6.30am.
Every day is a different day at Avis Budget Group. You cannot compare one day with another. I love to be in contact with different cultures and customers and the airport is the best place to do that.
We have a big team in the airport, working with approximately 30 Rental Sales Agents. We are on big family in Avis Budget Group in general I think, but in the airport that's definitely true. We cooperate in a good way, ensuring that we give the best service to the customer. Our team in the Netherlands is a hard working team, like everywhere, and we solve our problems as a team to make the customer happy. The important thing is that we have a very good Station Manager, who gives us all the support we need and I think that's very important.
I've had a lot of training, particularly sales performance training, which was perfect. We have to keep working at it, as that's the best way to give great service and understand what the customer wants. We also have many opportunities within the company to move into new positions. And Avis Budget Group is worldwide so I think there is a great deal of scope to go further within the company.
It's a very nice culture. It's dynamic as well with many different career paths to follow, and it's growing bigger and bigger and bigger. I think we are number one in car hire and I love Avis Budget Group, it's a great company.
