I really like the teams and the collective spirit that we are creating within the company.
Everyone talks about the people in this company. That's what keeps people here and that's what people enjoy about their day.
It's really friendly, very hard working.
They like to have a bit of a laugh as well, but they're extremely committed to their daily jobs.
It's quite diverse, so what happens is, they make us unique.
We love to celebrate birthdays and employees who've reached their achievements, so really any excuse to cut a cake or organize a lunch or a dinner.
No matter where I was working and in which team, the team spirit was fantastic and people are supportive so it's a really nice place to work for.
Anyone in the department will always take the time out to come and sit with you, talk you through anything, provide as much help as they can. I think everyone sees that we are kind of all in it and it's a team effort.
The training gives us the chance to improve ourselves, so we will never get bored. You have skills that you never thought you would have.
A real diverse nature of what you can be involved in. So there is an awful lot to learn, but if you're curious and determined to do that, then you can get a huge amount out of it.
If I have an idea and I want to make it happen, I just look at what we need to do, and then very quickly you can turn that into a reality.
I think every day is unusual, because you're dealing with lots of cultures, lots of customers. So each customer is its own unique character — all of them are unusual, [laughs] so I think if I were to describe a day I'd say they were all unusual. That's why it's so challenging and so motivating to work for this company.
We have many opportunities within the company to move into new positions. And Avis Budget Group is worldwide so I think there are many opportunities to go further within the company.
I've worked for Avis and Budget in the past for 6 years and in that time, I've worked in the call centre, I've worked in learning and development, and in sales. There are lots of opportunities within this company; it's up to you if you want to grasp those opportunities.
So there are literally hundreds of training courses across Avis Budget Group. I'm able to tailor the training that I need to enhance my development.
We do have learning and development team in ABG, it provides training for customer service and also for management training.
There is actually a website called ABG University, which we can access at any time.
But there is also a lot of other external training they put up for, so there is quite a lot of opportunity to improve your career, there is career days, and things like that.
I get great support from my manager; he's been a great mentor for me over the last couple of years.
He's really invested in my personal development. He's been there to support me all the time and give me feedback and advice along the way.
We have frequent one-to-ones, very open, you can pretty much discuss anything. You know that you'll be heard. I think that this just improves the overall working environment knowing that your manager will support you.
There is a big amount of responsibility, no one is watching me, clock in or clock out, just based on what I deliver, which everybody loves.
I absolutely enjoy coming in every day and don't want to leave.
